About Alejandro Chabán

The Creator of the Yes You Can!™ Diet Plan

Considered one of the most popular Hispanic celebrities in the entertainment business, Alejandro Chabán has enjoyed a very successful career. One of the youngest motivational speakers in the U.S., Chabán has most recently dedicated his time to sharing his life experience of battling obesity, anorexia and bulimia during his teenage years, and how he was able to transform himself from a bullied kid in school, into an admired actor, author, motivational speaker and entrepreneur.

Weighing an alarming 314lbs. at age 15, Chabán never imagined his life would change so dramatically the day he decided to finally lose weight.  Trying several “quick” diets and a wide variety of methods, he was able to shed the extra pounds little by little. However, since he lacked the proper counseling and nutrition, he soon became sickly and began suffering from anorexia and bulimia.  A few years later, after getting the proper nutrition as well as emotional counseling, Chabán finally found the formula that helped him achieve and maintain a healthy balance in his life. This opened the door to his dreams of stardom.

After his great success and popularity in the U.S. as well as Latin America, today Chabán is a Certified Nutrition and Wellness Consultant by the American Fitness Professionals & Associates (AFPA), and uses his experience to motivate, inspire, support and help others who may want to follow in his footsteps to achieve health and happiness. Through the unprecedented success of his best-selling book De Gordo a Galán (From Fatty to Hottie), Chabán soon became a trusted voice among thousands of Hispanics who began seeking him out for advice on how to overcome obesity and achieve a healthy lifestyle.

Seeing the great need for inspiration and information about health and wellness in the Latino community – which currently has the second-highest obesity rate in the country – Chabán created the Yes You Can! Diet Plan, the first and only diet plan created by Hispanics for Hispanics. Based on Chabán’s life experience and certified by a team of experts, the Yes You Can! Diet Plan focuses on four key pillars – Nutrition, Emotional Health, Movement and Dietary Supplements – that emphasize the importance of achieving wellbeing in all aspects of life and how families can help each other stay happy & healthy together.

Chabán’s movement to help Hispanics and inspire thousands have gained him recognition by renowned personalities such as Dr. Oz who named him “the voice of this generation’s weight loss and fitness” and chose him as one of the ambassadors for his Health Corps Foundation. Along with Dr. Oz and Health Corps, Chabán has toured and visited schools around the nation to help inspire kids to stay healthy and active. Additionally, corporations such as Sears have sought him out to lead initiatives that can help inspire Hispanic families to exercise and improve their health.

Currently Chabán hosts the weekly health and nutrition segment “Despierta Dieta” on Spanish-language TV’s #1 morning show, “Despierta América” on Univision. He also hosts and is the Executive Producer of his own web reality program “Yes You Can with Chabán” on YouTube’s NuevOn. Seen by thousands of people nationally and internationally, the show focuses on helping people develop a positive self-esteem, get their weight back on track, and features success stories of others who have achieved their healthy weight goals.
